magnificent, all the time.

our hearts are filled with gladness. michael buble again and again, father's day pancakes, security, moustaches, lovegivesmehope, pink, birthday wishlists, standards and society, chocolate milk, purple silk robes, the power of one, nail polish on my toes.

oh, it's time to start living

“Make a radical change in your lifestyle & begin to boldly do things which you may previously never have thought of doing, or been too hesitant to attempt. So many people live within unhappy circumstances & yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, & conservation, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man’s living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, & hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new & different sun. If you want to get more out of life, you must lose your inclination for monotonous security & adopt a helter-skelter style of life that will at first appear to you to be crazy. But once you become accustomed to such a life you will see its full meaning & its incredible beauty.”
— Jon Krakauer, Into the Wild.

forget about the boy

i went to the beach this weekend.
and in the moonlight
don't you think about him
sister, you're much better off without him
you can blow the blues a kiss goodbye
and put the sun back in the sky
for when he comes crawlin', i'm not fallin'
shout hooray and halleluh!
now me and mr. wrong are through
i'll find myself another beau
who i know is no rover!
forget about the boy!

i want to be wonderful

gold dusted pigment brushed across my face. building a fort out of sheets. lots of blankets and pillows. pineapple and cookies. a lantern. telling ghost stories and singing songs with a guitar in the dark.

listening to lots of music, and singing a lot of music. performances and practices. reading the cat in the hat. catching up with things. i need to pack for a trip. what are some things i should bring?

take a chance on me

today i was on the way home and went past a lovely house. it was a light pink house with white detailing, and it reminded me of a delicious frosted cake. if i lived there i'd wear tiaras around the house and possibly wear honey and brown sugar on my lips because it tastes good.
listening to songs that bring me nostalgia. eating way too many sweets, yet again. i bought some things this week. a jacket, a necklace, shoes and a vest. i also saw plays.

i like wearing silly hats.

love the one that's right for love

I miss it. I think I could miss it just as much as I miss you. marks on my face from mic tape face, "getting in the bag", curling hair and gelling hair nonstop, and total energy. That feeling of being infinite at the very end and at the very beginning.

So, I was in Chicago.
we dazzled the audience. we razzle dazzled them.

i like to be straight up with cute people.

like a field of rice, i've grown out of view

i have been having nonstop rehearsals! i haven't been able to get much of a break lately. but, i love it. i love it so much. i've also been listening to a lot of michael buble and musicals. i'm very excited to put on a show as amazing as chicago. i'm also doing a monologue from A Chorus Line for a drama class. what did you guys think of the new episode of glee?
i want to be living for me more than for other people.
i want to watch rugrats with my girls more.
i want to take more walks in the spring air.
i want to find my lost shoe.
i want no more of this spiritual fatigue that is haunting around me.
i want you to get back into my life.

this is a cake that one of our stage managers made for chicago. it has roxie and velma sitting downstage on it. and then my drama teacher at the back! she's an artist with pastry. sorry if my posting is a little bit slow for the next little while, i promise i'll post pictures of the show after it is done.

it all seemed quite natural

there was a pretty girl and she maybe liked this one boy but he was most likely leading her on; playing her. she was a bit scared to fall, but she did: halfway. then his not so good side kept shining through. she was a good person, and didn't care enough to do something about it. this boy told her stories of love and commitment and growing old together. it was too good to be true.
which is unfair. so she said, "butter me up, my buttercup-that's how you seem to play. thing is, you won't be with me-though you always get your way."

the excitement is gone and now she is just a pretty girl with a silly face. she said, "but baby, we made a promise; a promise to hang on!"

she took a breath, and said to herself, "now the wind is blowing blowing, and look at that; you're gone."

but stay strong she did, as she wouldn't let something like that mess up her ruffles.
staying at your best friends' house for four days. mandarin oranges, and promises of cupcakes. going to the movie theatre to see how to train your dragon in 3D. keeping the glasses afterwards. listening to old CDs. cleaning out her bedroom. wearing lace. doing your hair up in a bun. being inspired by movies like the blind side. listening to black and gold by sam sparro. silly jokes on the first day of april. chances. listening to music from the 90s while driving around a city. eating lots of chocolate and drinking apple cider in april.
my lovely friend beverley went on a trip to europe. before she left, she gave me a playlist that doubled as an acrostic poem. tell me if you can figure it out!
